REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CENTRAL LOMBOK — Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa inaugurated the new accommodation Sade Social Space in Mandalika Special Economic Area (KEK), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Sunday (12/7/2026). The presence of the facility is expected to strengthen the development of sport tourism while promoting the economic growth of the local community.

Ni Luh said the construction of accommodation and sports facilities was part of efforts to enrich Mandalika's tourist appeal as one of the national priority destinations.

“New accommodation and sports facilities can strengthen tourism development. There must remain innovation,” Ni Luh said at the inauguration event.

According to him, the Mandalika area has great potential to continue to be developed through various innovations, both in the tourism sector and the provision of supporting facilities.

“This innovation must continue to be driven because the Mandalika area is quite extensive,” he said.

Ni Luh hopes that every development carried out in Mandalika will be able to have a direct economic impact for the people of West Nusa Tenggara, especially through the involvement of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

“I am pleased that ITDC continues to push MSMEs up the class to be able to penetrate the export market. Innovations like this that we hope continue to be present in Mandalika,” he said.

He insists that the development of tourist destinations requires a long process and collaboration of various parties. According to Ni Luh, Bali's success as a world-class tourist destination is also built through a decades-long process.

“Building the tourism sector cannot be in one night. It takes the collaboration of government, community, and business actors to make Mandalika even more advanced,” he said.

Acting ITDC President Director Ahmad Fajar said Sade Social Space carries the concept of blending accommodation, sports, wellness tourism, and creative economy to strengthen Mandalika's position as a sport tourism destination.
